Sunshine Coast Fundraising Volunteer Support Positions

We are looking for a group of volunteers to take on some ongoing positions to support our fundraising team.

These roles and their key responsibilities and requirements will include:


Transport & Set Up/Pack Down Support:

  • Collect and return merchandise stock, equipment, signage and event materials to and from the Sunshine Coast office.
  • Set up the tables, chairs, banners, displays and the merchandise layout (on the first day of a stall/event)
  • Pack up the stall, making sure to leave the space clean and tidy (on the last day of a stall/event)

What's required:

  • You have flexible availability to transport equipment and set up and pack down stalls as needed. 
  • You are physically able to lift, carry, and move light to moderate items.
  • You have strong time management skills to ensure items arrive to the event as scheduled.
  • You have access to a vehicle capable of transporting merchandise and equipment (can fit 4-5 boxes, tables, and equipment)
  • You consent to a police check.

Merchandise Stall Finance Support:

  • Take home the EFTPOS and cash each afternoon to return to the stall the following day.
  • Set up the EFTPOS and count the cash float in the morning.
  • Reconcile the EFTPOS and cash in the afternoon.

What's required:

  • You have flexible availability to attend a volunteer shift each morning and afternoon of a stall/event.
  • You are reliable, punctual, and willing to take direction
  • You are comfortable handling cash and EFT processes.
  • You consent to a police check.

Stock & Finance Support:

  • Organise and pack merchandise stock, items, and equipment for events/merch stalls (usually the day before a stall/event) from the Sunshine Coast office.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock issued and returned, alerting the team when stock needs to be replenished.
  • Safely bank cash and maintain EFT machines as required.
  • Liaise with fellow volunteers and GDQ team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Please note this role is an ongoing commitment (approx. 5-10 hours a month)

What's required:

  • You have flexible availability to volunteer in the lead up to, and after stalls/events.
  • You have strong organisation and record-keeping skills.
  • You are comfortable handling cash and EFT processes.
  • You are reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
  • You are physically able to lift and move light to moderate items (merchandise boxes).
  • You consent to a police check.
